Mitzvah/Volunteer Day!

Hanson Park Conservancy joined the Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest NJ, Temple Sha’rey Shalom and Union County Savings Bank in their annual cleanup day at Hanson Park.

It was a wonderful turnout and the weather gods obeyed to allow us to work. We couldn’t have completed such an extensive clean up without the help of individuals who volunteered to give their time.

An army of volunteers could be seen throughout the park on Sunday, March 30th with their individual clean up tasks. They picked up fallen branches and twigs, raked up a carpet of leaves, laid down wood chips to create a path and planted pansies.  Thank you to the Cranford DPW for the delivery of wood chips to restore our pathway from the stone amphitheater to the Chimney area.

We had all ages turn out to help beautify the park they call their favorite; families, young teens and seniors did a Mitzvah (a good deed in Hebrew) in restoring the park after a harsh winter.

Thank you to all our volunteers and HPC trustees for giving of your time to help maintain our little jewel of a pocket park in Cranford.
